Four ate Five, Surry Hills

There is nothing I love more than writing up a weekend breakfast post. Its kind of our thing here at The Empty Fridge, a weekend just isn't a weekend without a brunch adventure of some sort. Due to so called "society" rules, we often can't mix our love for a good brekky with other passion - boozing. Okay, we are not that bad - promise.
Enter the Pina Colada Pancakes ($16).
Yes, you heard right. Everyone's favourite song/girly drink of choice masquerading as a pancake. One morning, Demos and I were travelling along Crown St and just as luck would have it - we got a car space right out front. The food and parking gods were smiling down on us, and just like that - four ate five beckoned us to sit out in the sunshine and order this breakfast special.
Fluffy pancakes topped with a dark rum maple syrup, crumble, warm pineapple chunks and ice cream. Shut the gates, this was bananas..(except in this case it was..pineapple) This definitely was a cracker of a brekky dish gets 10 points for originality and fun. How can you honestly say no to Pina Colada pancakes? Im not usually a fan of sickly sweet maple syrup but this tart variation mixed with the pineapple was the perfect match. It is quite a big dish to get through but the chunks of sweet crunchy crumble kept things interesting.

As stated in The Empty Fridge mealtime rule book, section 457 - you can't have two sweet breakfast dishes together, there should always be a sweet dish and a savory dish - otherwise it is offensive to an Empty Fridgers tastebuds and it would be too boring to do a "swapsies" half way through the dish.
Enter the four ate five pulled pork sandwich ($13).
Yes, Pulled Pork its not exactly a breakfast meal but this is what you get when you have breakfast in the "cusp" hour. You know, where they are still serving breakfast dishes as well as the lunch menu? Okay - its commonly referred to as the brunch menu, but whatevs. Four ate Five sambos are legendary and after trying this one we found ourselves a winner. Very fresh and very very soggy, but soggy in a good way. It made chomping through the crusty sourdough that much easier. A hearty sandwich with the tender pork strips just melting away.
A bit of tabasco for a kick and everyone is happy.
Yes, I promise you dear friend - this is a breakfast post.
Don't let the Kumera Chips ($6) fool you - sometimes I just require a fried dish of some sort. These chips were awesome too, not oily at all and lightly coated with curry powder. It was still very sweet and that made it all the more moorish

Would photos of our coffees help you believe that this is a breakfast post?

They do a damn good coffee here ($3 each) Both my piccolo and Demos' macchiatos had a richness that seemed to calm our tastebuds from our random selection of dishes. I wanted to try their ristretto - a concentrated "shot" of their Single Origin Roasters fair trade blend but after the pig out we had just had,  I think anything stronger than my creamy piccolo would have killed my food daze - I intended on spending my afternoon on the couch lazing away.
Have you guys seen the tap water bottles around town? I do like them - I've never been a fan of sparkling water - its a waste of calories ;) Not that this blog cares about calories (see photo below for proof)

And there you have it folks, damn good reason to visit Four ate Five and eat your way though there delicious menu. I'm all for your eggs benny and standard big breakfast menu selection but if you are after something hearty, reasonably priced and without snotty cafe pretentiousness - pay Four ate Five a visit. They are a fun and friendly bunch, make a mean coffee and will for ever be in my book of awesomeness just for this pina colada pancake. So friends, have you had a yummy brekky dish you'd like to share with us? And as it states in The Empty Fridge mealtime rule book, section 2 - if your brekky is boring - you should have just slept in.

There are lots of printer brands online that offer
advanced functions. It's useful if you seek for these multifunction printers on amazon, read evaluations and discover a cheap multifunction printer for on your own.
